Artistic Skating Open National Ranking Championship kicks off in Kerala.
Artistic Skating Open National Ranking Championship Begins on a High Note The Artistic Skating Open National Ranking Championship got off to a spectacular start at a premier sporting venue in Kerala, featuring an impressive opening ceremony and strong participation from skaters across the country.
The opening ceremony was graced by the Honourable Minister for Sports, Government of Kerala, who officially declared the championship open. Other distinguished guests included the Additional Secretary, Department of Sports; the Deputy Secretary, Department of Sports; the President of the Kerala Olympic Association; Officers on Special Duty (OSD) to the Minister; and members of the Roller Skating Association of Kerala. During the event, RSFI President Shri Tulsi Ram Agarwal was formally felicitated by the leadership of the State Sports Department.
The championship features a unique showcase of Artistic skating, with stellar performances by talented skaters representing powerhouse states of Artistic Skating. The events cover a wide range of elegant and highly technical disciplines, including Figure Skating, Solo Dance, Couple Dance, Show Skating, and Precision Teams, giving guests and spectators an opportunity to experience the skill, grace, and athleticism involved in the sport.
In a special gesture toward the participating athletes, breakfast was provided free of cost to all skaters, reflecting the organisers’ commitment to athlete welfare and creating a welcoming experience for participants travelling from across India.
The choice of the host venue in Kerala was widely appreciated by the participants. Skaters particularly praised the excellent wooden/synthetic skating floor, dedicated warm-up areas, clean restrooms and changing rooms, proper cooling ventilation, free drinking water, and ample seating arrangements, along with the venue’s convenient location and ease of travel.
Expanding its reach to fans nationwide, the championship achieved a major digital milestone. For the first time, this mega artistic event is being broadcast live not only on RSFI TV but also featured live on the Kerala State Olympic Association’s streaming channels.
The event also witnessed a significant media presence, bringing greater visibility to Artistic Skating in Kerala.
