Safe Return of Roller Hockey Team from China and Special Appreciation for Senior Leadership

As you are all aware, Chief De Mission Mr. Ramesh Chandra has been continuously providing us with updates from Lishui, China, regarding our Roller Hockey and Inline Hockey Club teams.
I would like to inform you that due to Typhoon Dolphin—which was one of the most powerful typhoons in China this year—our Roller Hockey athletes could not travel as scheduled due to safety concerns and missed the flight.
As a result, the team had to stay in China for an additional two days, and we had to arrange new flight tickets for their travel.
Despite these challenging circumstances, the entire team demonstrated immense patience, unity, and discipline. I am happy to share that the contingent has safely arrived back in India today.
In these difficult times, I would first like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our Chef de Mission, Mr. Ramesh Chandra, for ensuring the absolute safety and secure return of our team to India. Furthermore, I want to highlight a critical point that we noted and that Mr. Ramesh Chandra specifically brought to our attention: the incredible solidarity shown by our players. The senior athletes of the team—Kapil Gehlot, Jajpal Singh, and Arjun Bhupalam—displayed outstanding coordination. They worked tirelessly to ensure all facilities were provided to the players and kept them safe at the hotel.
Seeing our senior players take charge, care for their junior teammates, and assist senior team officials is a highly encouraging sign. It shows how responsible and dedicated our next generation is toward the sport and each other. It gives us great peace of mind to know that the future of Indian Roller Skating is in safe hands.
Additionally, please note that some members of our contingent whose Inline Freestyle and Speed Skating events are still pending have stayed back in China. They will return home after completing their respective competitions. We will continue to share their event results and updates with you from time to time.
