We are delighted to share , Hon’ble Union Sports Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya graciously invited Indian Women’s Roller Derby Team from the World Skate Games, along with our Asian medalist skaters, for a courtesy meeting over morning tea .
During the meeting, Hon’ble Minister Mandaviya ji engaged in a meaningful discussion with the players on how roller skating can be brought into priority sports. He applauded the achievements of the players and promised his unwavering support to elevate roller skating to priority status. Furthermore, he assured the players that he would make every effort to arrange a meeting with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji in the near future.
Additionally, we had the privilege of meeting with the President of the Indian Olympic Association, Smt. P.T. Usha. She expressed her sincere apologies, acknowledging that roller skating could not be included in the recent National Games due to unavoidable circumstances. However, she assured everyone that roller skating would be permanently included as a medal event in the upcoming National Games.
These are two significant developments for our sport, and we are thrilled to share this exciting news with you.
