I would like to start by apologizing for the lack of updates over the past two days. The local weather here in Asunción, Paraguay, has taken a rainy turn, which unfortunately put a temporary halt to most major events. Despite these interruptions, here are the key highlights and performance updates from the ground:
a) Inline Slalom Action & Injury Update: Our Inline Slalom athletes officially hit the track to compete. Due to unpredictable weather conditions, the track was heavily wet and slippery, leading to a few tough moments where our players slipped. Fortunately, lady luck was on our side, and absolutely no injuries were reported.
b) Official Inline Slalom Final Standings: Our skaters showed incredible resilience in the face of these wet track conditions, bringing home multiple Top 10 and Top 20 world rankings: i) Junior Boys: Monic X secured a phenomenal 7th Place finish, closely followed by Sairaj M in 8th Place. ii) Senior Women: Naveena put up a spectacular fight to secure a stellar 9th Place globally. iii) Senior Men: Manoj Karthik finished strong at 14th Place, while Goutham was unfortunately disqualified (DSQ) at the 18th place position due to the tricky track conditions. iv) Junior Girls: In a harsh stroke of luck on the slippery floor, our talented skaters Ahalaya (at 8th), Khrisika (at 9th), and Aishwarya (at 10th) were all disqualified (DSQ).
c) Speed Skating Postponed: On the other hand, the Speed Skating events could not take place as scheduled because the outdoor rink was completely wet and unsafe for racing.
d) Roller Hockey Team Departure: In other news, our Roller Hockey team has concluded its campaign and is officially heading back home today.
We are keeping a close watch on the scheduling adjustments and will continue to bring you live, day-to-day updates as the rest of the action resumes. Let us keep the positive energy and prayers going for our athletes!
Warm regards,
Sebastian Prem C Chef de Mission, Indian Team World Skate Games 2026 Vice President, Roller Skating Federation of India.
